MIK crashes on analysis of some, but not all songs, from same album

Firstly, love the app... when it works.

I analyzed several hundred songs most of which completed successfully, but then the app crashes. I isolated the crash down to one of the albums. Then further isolated it down to several tracks on that album.

What is surprising is that most of the tracks from this album completed successfully, but several tracks crash MIK every time I try to analyze it. They are all M4A Audio Files (.m4a). There are all from the same source. And I do not believe there are corrupt as they play fine in Mediamonkey and Traktor Pro.

There is no error log file here: C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Mixed In Key\Mixed In Key\5.0 Errors from event log listed below:

Sorry...I should have added ...

I'm running Win7 64bit OS w/ 8gb RAM and Quad Proc Intel i7-2640M CPU @ 2.80GHz.

It's a beefy laptop with plently of RAM. The CPUs are pegged during analysis, but looks like that just multi-threaded MIK hard at work. (nice job on the multi-threading!)

I have a laundry list of software installed (too many to name) including PN.

I just installed MIK + PN yesterday and this is my first crack to putting MIK to work.

Cheers, Alex

Hi Alex,

Good job on checking for an error log, I am surprised that there isn't one. It's great that you were able to figure out which tracks are causing the crash as well. If you could put any files that cause a crash in a single .zip folder, upload it to speedyshare.com, and send us the download link (contact@mixedinkey.com) that would really help us fix the problem.

Cheers,

Problem averted… I was in the process of cleanup my library, hence the MIK + PN processing. As a part of that I standardized on MP3@320. Once the M4A files were converted they ran through MIK without any issue.

Thanks, Alex

I have the same problem... reported also from other users, a couple of times I could analize the songs, but at a certain point it stops working and when i'm dragging the songs from itunes, even if i do it one by one...

I just noticed that the problem occurs only when dragging, not adding the folder by the button add folder... but it's really annoying because i have to look into all itunes library folders fo find the files

Which version of Mixed In Key are you using, and on what operating system?
