Hello,

First of all I have to say that Mash Up is absolutely fantastic. I'm hooked. It's exactly what I needed.

I'm a DJ but not musically trained - I understand the concepts of how songs are made but can't read music or play any instruments - I'm not actually that interested in that side of music, I'm more into mixing and playing existing music.

I've used Fruity Loops and Ableton software but to be honest are over complicated and a bit of a nightmare to understand. For me Mash-up has the simplicity, ease of use and simplicity that I needed.

I'm not using Mash Up to create Mash-Ups, but using it for creating mixes and re-editing songs (to cut down length of them, etc).

It would be good to have some features like (perhaps some are because of the what I use Mash Up for):

A) Being able to lock the track once in place - I've in more than one occassion accidently shifted a track.

B) The Beatmatching is good 90% of the time, but on long mixes it can slip out of sync. I've tried rounding up the BPM on the individual track to a whole number but sometimes makes the track go haywire.

C) Add some effects like Normalize, perhaps Echo/Reverbe, Bitcrushing, Flanger, etc - basic effects that are available in Audactiy or Goldwave.

D) Option to keep or remove the Beatgrid - allow free movement or make a tighter grid.

E) Because I'm using a lot of tracks, it can be difficult to work with - continually scrolling up and down and left to right. Can the audio tracks bars be narrower to get more on screen? At the moment I'm making and exporting my mixes in parts, so that I can reimport a part mix which is displayed as one track and then add to that - that I've cut down number of tracks on screen.

Apart from these niggles, fab software - can't wait for version 2.

Hi D.J.F.,

Glad to hear you are liking Mashup. All of the things you mentioned are already a part of our plans for the 2.0 version. If you really want to help it would be great if you could email us any tracks that you are having a difficult time beatmatching. If you have several of them, place them all in a single .zip folder, upload it to speedyshare.com, and email the download link to contact@mixedinkey.com. A brief explanation of what the files are in reference to would also be most helpful.

Cheers,
Chad P
