Sad to say there is a Glitch, it freezes captain deep. Sent email, I have gone back to previous version.
I've ran into a crash once. Other than that, I have to say I really like the tension thing and the fill option, and the "rythm record" in captain chords is just really smart and awesome. I hope you keep supporting these plugins.

finally last night I tried captain plugins. Studio one 4 user here, windows 7 64bit.
Overall, I really like them but at the moment they are buggy. The future ahead is rich :) but please make it more usable.
Once Deep freezed when connecting to Chords, but it didnt happen again so I dont know what was the problem.
Are there any keyboard shortcut for changing tool like "Fill", "Select", "Pencil" etc.?
It could be very useful to have chords notes or scale notes highlighted in the background or maybe on the left keyboard when painting notes..so I can see
because now, if I paint or brush how can lock them to scale/chord/harmony?this is possibile only with "Fill", isn't it?
Also, if I enlarge enough the window and try to paste the copied midi clip to Studio one arranger window, Studio one disappears and I cannot paste the clip. If then I make the Captain window smaller everything works fine. I hope have been clear.
Also, when using Play alone or inside Melody if I record notes and click in an area inside Studio one then I come back to Play it doesnt work...I have to change window(i.e. click on "midi in") and return to Notes window.
So please before adding new features make usability and navigability inside Captain plugins more stable and easier.

Keyboard shortcuts for changing Fill are 1 2 3 4 on the keyboard.

I've forwarded all this to our developers. They will take a look into it and see how we can improve it on future updates.

Hey everyone. Using Captain Melody for Windows 10 64-Bit OS.
Looks as though the [Selection, Pencil, Paintbrush, and Fill Section] have replaced the [octave, note length, tension, rhythm and pattern section]. Screenshot attached**
Awesome set of plugins otherwise!
Just purchased the Windows version of Captain Chords and downloaded the beta version of Melody. Looking great so far, except that Melody says it's connected to Chords but no notes are added to the piano roll (as others have already noted).
Without that, it's hard to do further testing, since this is surely the whole point of the plugin, right?
Aside from this, the registration process was nothing but complete confusion with messages saying my VIP code was already in use, and login problems, but I think it was sorted out in the end.
Looking forward to creating some good music and hoping to see an update for Melody soon with fixes etc.

After clicking connect to chords, can you please go to the Fill Tool and click to fill in some notes. It will generate some melodies based on your chord progression, which you can edit it to taste, of course :)

This kind of defeats the purpose of the melody plugin. As shown on the Mac version it will populate the melody based on the Chords. Yes clicking the fill section will fill in only 1 bar at a time. This is not only a hassle because you need to click on each individual bar to populate so if you have 8 or more bars this is very time consuming. Is it not possible for it to populate the full duration of the chords whether it's over 2, 4 or 8 etc bars?

Thanks, James, I did discover the fill option, but found it a bit clumsy to use until I got more used to it.
Looking forward to seeing a properly working version that matches the MAC way of doing things :-)
BTW: The keyboard shortcuts 1,2,3,4 don't work on my version of Melody.

Win 10/Studio One 4/64 bit VST
I have the same issue with invisible notes in CM. I selected a range of notes and then moved them about on the piano roll - when I stopped moving them they vanished, but were obviously still there because they continued to sound when played. If, while holding the Ctrl button, I then select the area where the notes are supposed to be, they become visible again but then disappear as soon as I release the Ctrl button.
The 1,2,3,4 buttons work as long as I make sure the focus is on CM and not Studio One i.e. if I press the play button in S1 to here the CM melody, the focus transfers to S1 and the buttons don't work. If I then click the mouse on CM and then use the buttons, they work fine.
For me the fill function works fine - I don't want the entire progression filled with the same melody pattern by default.
When recording a rhythm in Captain Chords, you can loop through the progression to get the feel/ beat of the rhythm to your liking. When completed it shows the take number - e.g. Take 3. Is there a way to review the previous takes? If so I can't figure out how and would appreciate a clue.

Is there a way to import a chord progression MIDI file? I would love to generate a melody or bassline from a MIDI file. Or vice versa: import a melody line and generate a chord progression with Chords! That would be awesome to implement.
I am a Studio one 4.1.3. user on windows 7x64. I cannot use captain play with any MIDI controller. My tracks are receiving MIDI info and I can play chords with the qwerty keyboard but not with my any of my keyboard controllers. Is this a bug. I am on the latest beta version (hotfix 4).

After clicking connect to chords, can you please go to the Fill Tool and click to fill in some notes. It will generate some melodies based on your chord progression, which you can edit it to taste, of course :)
Since it's still in Beta mode, you can expect this feature to be improved with the upcoming updates.

Have you tried rebooting your computer and trying it again?
Tried Melody 2.0(Beta).
Does not look like Melody for Mac as interface front window.
After chords written in Chords and the user connects Melody nothing happens.
Copy to clipboard from Chords to Melody does not work properly. Copied window sticks to cursor and will not let go.
Brush/pencil fill : sticks to cursor, cant get rid of the following window.
If user wants at least put Chords and Melody side by side, there is no "always on top" option. So, if you click one window, another will disappear.
So far useless piece of soft.

I purchased this after watching videos on youtube.. didn't realize the person who made the videos was using Mac..smh lol
It looks like the issue I'm having is common on Windows. When will there be a fix? I map out my Chord Progression - I then open Melody and Connect it to Chords...but there is no Melody. On the videos, within the Melody vst, on the left, it shows Tension, Rhythm, Pattern, etc........but on MY Melody vst, none of that stuff is there. There is no Melody. There is no presets. Yes, I can pencil, paint, and fill notes in - but I can do that without this software.... So basically, I spent money on this thinking I'd be able to do what the guy does in the videos, but I can not :(
I realize Windows is in Beta - but for what I'm seeing - the Melody plugin isn't even complete if it is missing what I mentioned above. What's the deal?
Captain plugins working perfect for me, Windows 10 ableton 10.
In regards to Captain Melody beta, I do not mind the fill option one bar at a time as I would prefer it not to completely right the melody for me but rather give me options of where to go from a point. That being said, once you adjust a single note in that block you lose the ability to skip through the fill options entirely. I think it would be good to be able to select your desired area and then implement the fill options on those notes.
Other then that great work on this software. I have always had the progressions I was after in my head as sounds but really struggled learning that theory. The inversion and voicing options get me to where I want to be without losing the vibe I am feeling.

When can we expect the NON BETA version of Captain Melody. You've been in Beta for 6 months... the software does not work properly. We paid our money for the software. Do we get a working version or perhaps an update from Mixed in Key on the matter?

I've just downloaded Captain Chords and I believe it has the Captain Melody beta (I tried to download a previous version after installing the beta first but it doesn't seem to have made any difference). I'm using it as a plugin in Live. It seems from your Captain Melody video that you can easily add arpeggios but I can't find anything to do this in the beta version. Can you help please? Thanks.

I'm getting the same thing on Windows and Ableton Live. There's no auto generated pattern after hooking up chords and no presets available - only paint, selection, idea tool.
It looks nothing like the video.
I think the latest update is definitely a big improvement. the idea function has a lot of options to customize the melodies. I do feel that it is about time an instructional video was released for the windows version as It is dramatically different to the Mac version. this will no doubt clear up 90% of the questions in this forum. I will try give more feedback once I have had a bit more time with it

Hey there, same here. Was installing everything yesterday evening. Could play around perfectly with Chords and Deep but when it comes to Melody then a) i have to choose a scale first and after i have to connect with Chords, BUT nothing happend no note pettern generated and the paint, fill, idea tools only abailable. I am using Win10 pro und FL. As a beta where the main function is not working, really weak. When i open Deep than i get the "connect screen" immediately, Melody not first the "scale screen". How to fix this Melody issue? Thanks a lot for any hints.
Any idea if you will make the Captain Chords work on Studio One 3 and a 32 bit machine?
