Hi, This is a feature request. Would it be possible to allow Mixed in Key to write to the non-standard AIFF tags that apple uses with iTunes (Traktor for example already allows this). Would really be amazing for people who want to have their entire music collection as lossless files

I just came here to post the same thing, actually :) ScratchLIVE uses this as well, and I have been in the process of replacing many of my MP3s with AIFFs lately.

+3 here as well. That would be awesome. My collection consists by 1/3 of AIFF files, because they're like WAV with MP3-like metadata tags, best of both worlds. And the share grows each day.

Thanks for the feedback guys. This probably won't make it into the initial 5.0 release but it's a good candidate for 5.1. Cheers, Chad P

I've only ever asked (repeatedly) for two things from MIK and neither have been done with this upgrade, so disappointed. .aif support in the Windows version is well long overdue, I'm happy to hear it finally may be an option for 5.1.... another long wait I guess. Another one, can you guys *please* enable MIK to allow scanning of .mp2 files in the analyze screen. The MIK mpeg decoder reads them because they are mpeg just like .mp3, but the software will not see them unless they are renamed to .mp3 first, then once scanned you have to rename them all back to .mp2. All you need to do is code in .mp2 as a valid file type when adding a folder or file in the analyze screen... that's all... Reason being is mp2 @ 384k sound HEAPS better with higher dynamic range than mp3 files @ 320k - and are a better choice if one needs to use smaller, compressed files.

Great news about future support of aiff format, since Beatport is now offering aiff downloads.

Any news on tagging Aiff's? Would love to have some idea of a timeframe!

We're looking into it now, if there aren't any unforeseen difficulties it will be added to the next release.

Thanks Chad, that's great to hear. Do you mean in version 5.5? Do you have a timeframe - are we looking at weeks, months, a year? Thanks

I don't have a time frame for releases, but it is probably much less than a year.

I just tested the latest build from our Mac developers and we have AIFF tagging! It's working in all popular DJ software, so I think it will be much better than WAV tagging. I know you will ask, so if all continues to go well we could have this build out in the next few weeks, but like with all predictions please keep in mind that bugs can and do appear that can push back release dates indefinitely.

Just checked in as I was wondering if there had been any progress without actually expecting any! Wow - that is such great news. I cannot wait! Thanks for the update.

We have AIFF tagging working on the Windows version now too, and FLAC support added to the Mac version! Still no definite release date yet, but we should be starting beta testing "soon."

Hello Chad,
With more 50,000 titles in AIFF on my iTunes Library, I'm waiting for the AIFF tagging with a impatience. I've seen it's part of the coming features, am I wrong?

Guillaume
PS : I work on a mac

I've read them but this features does not appear on the 5.1. The Aiff files can analyse but non in the comment tag on Itunes or Key tags in Serato make them appear automatically.
I know can be boring but as professionals we understand that mp3s become a "popular" format but we need the best sound quality to play on club or festival sound systems that why I'm expecting this update. I know you've done already a amazing job by creating this software.
Regards
